Key Lime Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs, separated (reserves whites for meringue)
    1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.)
    1/2 c. lime juice
    2 to 3 Tbsp. grated lime rind
    few drops green food coloring (optional)
    1 (8 or 9-inch) baked pie shell, cooled or graham cracker shell
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/3 c. confectioners sugar (10x) or use plain white sugar
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In medium bowl, beat egg yolks; stir in condensed milk, lime juice, rind and food coloring (optional).
    In small bowl, stiffly beat 1 egg white; fold into milk mixture.
    Turn into shell.
    Beat reserved egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy.
    Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff.
    Spread meringue on pie, sealing carefully edge of shell.
    Bake 15 minutes or until meringue is golden brown.
    Cool.
    Chill before serving.
