24 Hour Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg yolks
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. whipping cream (unbeaten)
    1 (No. 2) can chunk pineapple, drained and cut into small pieces
    1 pt. whipping cream, whipped (Note: This is less the 1/4 c. used)
    1/2 lb. quartered marshmallows
    1 can Royal Anne cherries, drained
Preparation
    Boil together for custard the first 5 ingredients.
    Cook until thick, then cool.
    Combine pineapple, marshmallows and cherries. Fold in whipped cream.
    Add custard to fruit mixture.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Serves 12.
