Kimberly'S Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. (2 sticks) butter, cut into pieces
    1 c. sugar
    2 large eggs
    3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    granulated sugar
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar thoroughly with an electric mixer until fluffy.
    Add the eggs and beat again.
    Sift the flour with the dry ingredients and add it to the creamed mixture.
    Stir in vanilla.
    Form the dough into a ball, wrap in foil and refrigerate 1 hour.
    Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0.
    When the dough is firm, pinch off a small piece at a time, leaving the rest in the refrigerator. Roll each batch out quite thin on a floured pastry cloth and cut into desired shapes.
    Sprinkle the cookies with sugar and bake on a lightly greased or nonstick baking sheet until pale gold, 8 to 10 minutes.
    Cool them on a rack.
