Ingredients

1 lb. butter, softened
2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. white sugar
2 Tbsp. vanilla
3 eggs
6 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
4 c. chocolate chips (or 12 oz. is okay)
2 c. diced nuts
Preparation

Using a large bowl, mix (on low speed) butter, brown sugar and white sugar.
Add vanilla and eggs and beat well.
In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt and baking soda.
Add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture.
The dough will become sticky and very dry so sometimes mixing with bare hands works best.
