Scottish Shortbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter, softened
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    3 3/4 c. flour
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Cream the soft butter and sugar.
    Add salt and gradually add flour.
    Pat down into 2 buttered 8 x 8-inch pans.
    Prick surface with a fork.
    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
    Cool 10 minutes in pan.
    Cut into squares, then cool completely before removing from pan.
