Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 can coconut
    1 c. pecans
Preparation
    Beat 5 egg whites stiffly. Cream margarine with shortening. Add sugar, beat until smooth.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time.
    Beat well.
    Sift flour and soda together.
    Add to mixture with buttermilk, coconut, pecans and egg whites.
    Flour and grease 3 cake pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.
