Ingredients

4 large raw potatoes
1 large egg
1 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. spike from health food store
1/2 c. vegetable oil
Preparation

Grate raw potatoes.
Squeeze water out with towel.
Beat egg lightly and pour over potatoes.
Add flour.
Sprinkle spike over potatoes.
Heat vegetable oil until hot.
Drop potatoes by the spoonful into fat; brown lightly on each side.
Drain.
Serve with applesauce.
