Broccoli-Ham Chowder Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. fresh or frozen broccoli
    3 c. milk
    3 c. chicken stock
    1 c. chopped ham
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 c. half and half
    2 c. grated Swiss cheese
    1/4 c. butter
Preparation
    Wash broccoli.
    Place broccoli and 1/2 stock in large kettle. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cover.
    Simmer 7 minutes or until tender.
    Remove broccoli.
    Add the remaining stock, milk, salt, cheese and pepper.
    Bring to a boil over medium heat.
    Stir.
    Stir in cream, cheese, butter and broccoli.
    Heat until the cheese melts, but do not boil.
    To make thick, add 4 to 5 tablespoons cornstarch.
