Fried Catfish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 small to medium catfish
    pepper to taste
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. buttermilk, milk or water
    vegetable oil
Preparation
    Fillet any catfish that are very large; wash and pat dry. Pepper lightly.
    Mix cornmeal and salt; combine egg and milk.
    Dip fish in egg mixture and then in cornmeal.
    Heat 1/2-inch oil in a heavy skillet to 370\u00b0.
    Fry fish about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
    Drain on paper towels and serve immediately. Serves 6.
