Soft Buttermilk Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. lemon flavoring
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening or lard
    2 eggs
    4 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix
    sugar
    and
    shortening.
    Add
    eggs
    and
    lemon flavoring. Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
    Sift
    flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add liquid and flour alternately into
    first mixture.
    Stir in nuts.
    Chill dough several hours or overnight. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
