Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. dry pinto beans
    2 whole cloves garlic
    4 Tbsp. salt or to taste
    1 lb. diced bacon
    1 lb. diced ham
    1/2 c. diced tomatoes
    2 c. diced chiles (use long green chiles)
Preparation
    Put beans in a pot and cover with water and bring to a full boil and then put on simmer.
    Add garlic and salt.
    Cover and cook about 4 hours.
    Make sure water level of beans stays just above beans.
    In another pan, brown 1 pound of diced bacon; drain fat, leaving about 3 tablespoons drippings in the pan.
    Add ham, onions, tomatoes and chiles; saute.
    When beans are soft, add sauteed ingredients and bacon to bean pot and simmer about 20 minutes. Ready to serve.
    Tastes good poured over rice and makes a meal.
