Crunchy Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. regular oats, uncooked
    1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Cream butter in a large mixing bowl, gradually add sugar, beating well.
    Add eggs and vanilla, beating well.
    Sift together flour, soda and salt in a small mixing bowl; stir into creamed mixture, mixing well.
    Stir in oats and walnuts.
    Drop by teaspoon, 3 inches apart, onto greased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
    Remove from cookie sheets, and cool on wire racks.
    Yields 10 dozen.
    Note:
    One cup flaked coconut may be added to batter.
