The Garnet (Not Gamecock Garnet!) Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cherry gelatin
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. chopped seedless raisins
    1 c. cold water
    1/2 c. finely cut dates
    2 or 3 c. finely cut dried figs
    1 ripe banana, diced
    1/4 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Dissolve gelatin and salt in boiling water.
    Add cold water and chill until slightly thickened, then fold in fruit and nuts. Pour into 1-quart mold; chill until firm.
    Unmold.
    Serve plain or with whipped cream.
    Makes 8 servings.
