Fruit Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 oz. self-rising flour
    pinch of salt
    1 1/2 oz. margarine or butter
    1 1/2 oz. dried fruit
    1 oz. sugar
    5 to 6 oz. milk
Preparation
    Sift the flour and salt into a mixing bowl, rub in the fat until it is evenly distributed, then stir in the fruit and sugar. Mix in enough milk to make a soft, but not sticky dough and turn it onto a lightly floured working surface.
    Roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness, then dip a 2 1/4-inch cutter in extra flour and cut out as many rounds as possible; lay them on a greased baking tray.
    Brush the tops of the scones with milk and bake them on the center shelf of a hot oven (425\u00b0) for about 10 minutes, until they are golden brown and well risen.
