Chocolate Cherry Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can cherry pie filling
    1 Tbsp. cold water
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1 2/3 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 to 1/3 c. cocoa
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. water
    1/3 c. vegetable oil
    1 tsp. vinegar (white)
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Combine cornstarch, water and almond extract.
    Stir to dissolve.
    Blend in cherry pie filling.
    Pour into ungreased 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Combine dry ingredients and mix well.
    Add remaining ingredients and stir briskly until batter is smooth and blended. Pour evenly over cherries.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before inverting into serving dish.
