Grandma Betsy'S Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream butter;
    add sugar gradually.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Stir in vanilla.
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Add
    to creamed mixture.
    Chill thoroughly (3 to 4 hours).
    Roll out on well-floured surface to 1/4 to 1/8 inch thickness.\tCut
    in
    desired shapes.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes.
    Cool slightly.
