Date Nut Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. oil
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 lb. chopped pitted dates (3 c.)
    4 c. pecan halves
Preparation
    Beat together eggs, sugar and oil.
    Add dry ingredients and mix well.
    Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3-inch) and put in a cold oven.
    Turn oven to 300\u00b0 and bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until firm in the middle.
    Let cool completely.
    Makes a 3 pound loaf.
