Surprise Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. miniature marshmallows
    1 (18 oz.) pkg. chocolate cake mix (spice)
    1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling (apple)
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cherry gelatin (lemon)
Preparation
    Spray a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
    Sprinkle marshmallows on bottom of pan.
    Prepare cake mix as directed on box.
    Take out enough batter for 6 cupcakes (bake separately). Pour remaining batter over marshmallows.
    Combine cherry pie filling and dry gelatin; spread over batter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
