Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 box brown sugar
    1/3 small can evaporated milk
    1/3 stick margarine
    unsalted popped corn
    peanuts (optional)
Preparation
    Put brown sugar in heavy saucepan and just enough water to dissolve.
    Stir and cook over medium heat until it forms soft ball in cold water.
    (Don't stir much.)
    Remove from heat and add evaporated milk and margarine.
    Put back on heat and cook to soft ball stage again.
    Remove from heat and pour over a large bowl of popped corn mixed with peanuts, if desired.
