Plantation Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cake flour
    1 c. butter (no substitute)
    1 2/3 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla, lemon or almond flavoring
Preparation
    Sift flour; measure and sift again.
    Cream butter until light and fluffy.
    Gradually add sugar, stirring all the while until fluffy and well blended.
    Add one egg at a time, beating well after each addition.
    After adding the last egg, beat about 5 minutes longer.
    Add flour gradually; mix well to blend.
    Add desired flavoring.
    Pour into a well-greased 10-inch tube pan. Bake in a 300\u00b0 oven for 1 1/4 hours, or until done.
    Let cool slightly in pan.
    Invert on a cake cooler.
