Pepper Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large red peppers
    6 large green peppers
    7 small onions
    1/3 head medium cabbage
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1 c. water
    1 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. each: salt and whole mustard seed
Preparation
    Chop or grind first 4 ingredients completely.
    Combine 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 cup water; bring to boil.
    Pour over drained vegetables; let stand for 10 minutes.
    Drain.
    Add 1 cup vinegar, 1 1/2 cups sugar, salt and whole mustard seed.
    Boil for 2 minutes.
    Pour over pepper hash and fill sterile jars.
    Process with hot water bath for 5 minutes.
    Makes approximately 3 pints.
