Ingredients

3/4 c. vegetable shortening
1 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. uncooked oats
1 c. plain flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
nuts, chocolate chips and raisins (optional)
Preparation

Beat shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla until creamy. Combine remaining ingredients and mix well.
Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes.
Makes 2 to 3 dozen.
