Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    3 large bananas, mashed
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. cherry juice or milk
    1 c. maraschino cherries, chopped
    1 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation
    Sift flour, soda and salt together.
    Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time.
    Add bananas alternately with flour and juice.
    Mix well.
    Add the vanilla, cherries and nuts which have been dredged with flour.
    Cook at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    (This recipe makes 4 small loaves or one extra large one.)
