Braised Sirloin Tips - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. beef sirloin tips, cut into 1-inch cubes
    1 (10.5 oz.) can consomme or beef broth
    2/3 c. cranberry cocktail sauce
    1 clove garlic, minced (if desired)
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
    4 c. cooked rice
Preparation
    Brown meat on all sides in a large heavy skillet.
    Add consomme or beef broth, soy sauce and garlic.
    Heat to boiling. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 hour or until beef is tender. Blend cornstarch and water; stir gradually into the stew.
    Cook, stirring constantly, until gravy thickens and boils. Cook 1 minute more. Serve over rice.
    Yields 8 servings.
