Mexicali Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 (15 oz.) cans chili with beans
    1 can whole kernel corn, drained
    1 can tomatoes
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. corn meal mix
    1 c. (4 oz.) Cheddar cheese (optional)
Preparation
    Saute onions in butter or oleo.
    Add chili, corn and tomatoes; mix.
    Pour in baking dish.
    Prepare corn meal mix per directions on box.
    Add cheese to mix.
    Pour corn meal mix over the ingredients.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Makes 8 to 10 servings.
