Tallahassee Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white corn meal
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. sweet milk
    1/2 c. water
    1 large onion, chopped fine
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together and add milk and water.
    Stir in chopped onion.
    Add more meal or milk if necessary to make a soft, but workable, dough.
    Mold into pones about 5 inches long and 3 inches wide, and about 3/4-inch thick.
    Fry in hot deep fat or oil (365\u00b0) until well browned.
