Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    15 lb. pickles
    2 c. lime
    2 gal. water
    5 pt. vinegar
    6 lb. sugar
    2 tsp. whole cloves
    2 tsp. whole allspice
    2 tsp. mixed spices
    4 Tbsp. salt
    green food coloring
Preparation
    Wash and slice pickles in large container.
    (Do not use aluminum.)
    Mix 2 cups lime in 2 gallons water.
    Pour over pickles.
    Let set 24 hours.
    Rinse in 4 different changes of water.
    Cover with cold water and let soak 3 to 4 hours.
    Drain.
