Christmas Trees - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 egg
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. almond extract
3/4 c. sugar
2 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
green vegetable coloring

Preparation

Cream the shortening, adding sugar gradually.
Add unbeaten egg, sifted dry ingredients, flavoring and a few drops of vegetable coloring.
Mix well.
Fill cookie press.
Form cookies on ungreased cookie sheets, using the tree plate.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Yields 6 dozen.
