Gratin Of Winter Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. cooked winter squash pulp (acorn, butternut, turban or pie pumpkin)
    6 green onions, chopped (use much of green tops)
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/2 c. sharp Cheddar cheese, divided
    4 oz. shaved ham, cut up
    3 Tbsp. heavy cream
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 1/2 c. homemade-style bread crumbs
Preparation
    A one-pound squash yields 2 cups cooked pulp.
