Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. cream, half and half or milk
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
2 Tbsp. dry mustard
1/2 c. vinegar
Preparation

Mix all dry ingredients.
Beat egg yolk slightly; add cream. Add to dry ingredients slowly.
Add vinegar slowly.
If added too fast, it will curdle.
Bring to boil over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (soft custard).
Serve warm.
