Calumet One Egg Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. butter or shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    3 c. sweet milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift flour once, measure and add baking powder and salt, sift 3 times.
    Cream butter thoroughly, add sugar gradually, creaming together until blended and light.
    Add egg and beat very thoroughly.
    Add flour, alternately with milk, a small amount at a time.
    Beat after each addition until smooth.
    Add vanilla; put in a 8 x 8 x 12-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes
