Pennsylvania Dutch Style Green Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (16 oz.) can green beans
2 or 3 slices bacon
1 small onion, sliced
2 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation

Drain beans, reserving 1/2 cup liquid.
Fry bacon in skillet until crisp.
Drain and crumble, reserving 1 tablespoon bacon drippings.
Saute onion lightly in bacon drippings.
Stir in cornstarch, dry mustard, salt and reserved bean liquid.
Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
Stir in brown sugar, vinegar and beans.
Cook until heated through.
Spoon into serving dish.
Top with crumbled bacon.
