Tea Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2/3 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/4 c. sweet milk
1 c. currants (may substitute raisins)
Preparation

Mix first 5 ingredients together.
Cut shortening into dry ingredients until coarse.
Beat eggs well and add to sweet milk. Add currants to coarse mixture together with milk mixture.
Mix well and put out on floured baking sheet.
Roll out to 1 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut into desired shape.
Place on greased cookie sheet; dot each biscuit with generous piece of butter.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes or until a golden brown.
