Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 lb. butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
5 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream together sugar and butter.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Shape cookies as desired; dough may be chilled, rolled out and cut with cookie cutters or can be rolled into walnut sized balls and flattened with the greased bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes.
Makes 5 to 6 dozen cookies.
