Peasant Salad(Fattouche) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. flat bread (Arab bread), toasted and broken into small pieces
2 1/2 lb. chopped cucumbers or heart of lettuce, cut into small pieces
2 lb. tomatoes, cut into small pieces
10 oz. onions, finely chopped
6 oz. olive oil
8 oz. lemon juice
1 clove garlic, mashed with salt
1 bunch purslane (bagle)
Preparation

Toast and break bread into small pieces.
Chop all the vegetables; add them to the bread and mix well.
Add mashed garlic, lemon juice and oil; toss well.
Serve on platter. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and a little chopped onion and tomatoes.
