Ingredients

1 1/2 c. butter/margarine
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. (12 oz.) molasses
1/3 c. milk
7 1/2 c. flour
2 1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. ginger
3 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Beat in egg.
Stir in molasses and milk.
Combine flour, salt, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and soda. Mix into wet ingredients.
On floured surface, roll 1/4 inch thick.
Cut with cookie cutter (2-inch).
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes about 5 dozen 2-inch cookies.
