Hunter'S Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    4 Tbsp. onions, thinly sliced
    1 1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground pepper
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    3/4 c. beef broth
    4 c. mashed potatoes (fresh or instant)
    2 c. thinly sliced apples
    2 Tbsp. bread crumbs
Preparation
    Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet.
    Saute the onions for 10 minutes.
    Add the meat; cook over high or medium high heat, stirring frequently, until browned.
    Mix in the salt, pepper, nutmeg and broth.
    In a greased 2-quart casserole, arrange as many layers as possible of the potatoes, meat mixture and apples, starting and ending with the potatoes.
    Sprinkle with the bread crumbs; dot with the remaining butter.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 oven temperature for 25 minutes.
    Serves 4 to 6.
