Peanut Butter Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter, softened at room temperature
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and lightly flour three 9-inch cake pans.
In large bowl, cream together the butter, shortening, and sugar.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Stir to mix. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with the buttermilk. Add vanilla and beat until blended. Pour into prepared pans. Bake about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into center of cake layers.
Remove from pans and cool completely on racks.
Frost with either the cooked peanut butter icing or the quick and easy peanut butter icing.
