Angel Crisp Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. white sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 c. sifted flour
    extra sugar for dipping
Preparation
    Combine both sugars and shortening.
    Add egg and vanilla and mix well.
    Combine salt, baking soda, cream of tartar and flour. Add to sugar mixture and mix well.
    Form into balls the size of walnuts.
    Dip top half in a dish of water then into a dish of sugar.
    Place on a greased baking sheet and press down the center with finger.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 7-10 minutes.
    Use colored sugar at holidays.
