Date And Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. pitted dates
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 c. boiling water
    1 egg
    3/4 c. light brown sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. pecans
    1/2 c. walnuts
Preparation
    Chop dates.
    Add soda and boiling water; cool.
    Beat egg; add sugar, salt and vanilla and combine with date mixture.
    Sift flour with baking powder.
    Stir into first mixture with nuts.
    Pour into greased loaf pan.
    Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
