Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
3/4 c. ground peanuts
Preparation

Cream shortening and butter until light and fluffy.
Add powdered sugar and salt and mix well.
Blend in flour.
Stir in water, vanilla and peanuts.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets and flatten slightly.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes or until done.
Dredge cookie in powdered sugar while still warm.
