Sweet And Sour Short Ribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    short ribs
    shortening
    1 can pineapple
    1/3 c. soy sauce
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 tsp. ground ginger
    1 onion, coarsely chopped
Preparation
    Brown ribs on all sides in small amount of shortening.
    Drain pineapple; reserve juice.
    Add enough water to reserved juice to make 2 cups.
    Add soy sauce, brown sugar and ginger to juice; pour over browned ribs.
    Cover; simmer for 2 hours.
    Add the pineapple and onion; cook 30 minutes longer.
    Serve over rice.
