Strawberry Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    2 qt. strawberries, measured after they are capped and washed
Preparation
    Slowly dissolve sugar and water.
    Add strawberries and bring mixture to a boil; boil for 15 minutes.
    Shake, but do not stir. Remove from heat; skim and pour into shallow pans.
    Shake pans while mixture cools.
    Let stand overnight.
    Can while cold.
    These are very good frozen; they retain the fresh flavor.
