Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak (1/2-inch thick)
    1/3 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 Tbsp. cooking oil
    1 (1 lb. 12 oz.) can tomatoes
    1/4 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. diced celery
    2 Tbsp. chopped onion
Preparation
    Cut steak into 6 to 8 pieces.
    Mix flour, salt and pepper. Pound into meat with meat hammer or knife.
    Brown meat in hot oil, turning once.
    Reduce heat.
    Add tomatoes, sugar, celery and onions.
    Bring to simmer.
    Cover and cook until tender, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
    Arrange meat and sauce in shallow, covered casserole. Heat about 20 minutes.
    Serves 6.
