Butterscotch Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    dash of salt
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 egg yolks, well beaten
    2 c. milk, scalded
    3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 baked pie crust
    meringue
Preparation
    Combine brown sugar, salt and cornstarch.
    Add egg yolks.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Add milk slowly, stirring constantly.
    Cook over hot water until thick and smooth.
    Cool.
    Add flavoring.
    Add margarine.
    Pour into a baked pie crust.
    Cover with meringue and bake.
