Oven Swiss Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. (3/4-inch) round steak
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, diced
1/2 c. finely chopped celery
1/2 c. finely chopped carrots
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Preparation

Cut meat into 6 pieces.
Combine the flour and salt; pound 2 tablespoons into meat.
Brown on both sides, transfer to baking dish.
Blend 2 tablespoons flour mixture into pan drippings.
Stir in drained tomatoes, celery, carrots and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until thickened and bubbly.
Pour over meat.
Bake, uncovered, at 350\u00b0 for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Serves 6.
