Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. white sugar
1 c. sour milk with 1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
4 c. flour
Preparation

Mix sugars and shortening.
Add sour milk mixture.
Mix dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture.
Roll out on floured board and cut out with a biscuit cutter.
Put filling on one cookie, then cover with another.
Seal edges.
