Grandma Gross' Chili Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. hamburger
    1 medium onion
    1 qt. tomatoes
    1 can kidney beans
    1/4 c. barley
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Brown hamburger and finely cut onion over a slow heat.
    Add tomatoes, beans and salt.
    A small pinch of chili powder is okay if you like it spicier.
    Cook slowly for 2 hours.
    Add a little water, if too thick.
