Black-Eyed Peas On New Year'S Day For Good Luck - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 strips bacon
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    2 c. peas
    1/2 c. uncooked long-grained white rice
    2 c. water
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Use unhusked ears of corn.
    Lay back husks enough to remove silk.
    Return husk to original position.
    Be sure kernels aren't exposed.
    Roast on grill, turning 3 or 4 times so all sides are exposed to heat.
    Allow at least 30 minutes for roasting, depending on age-size of corn and proximity of heat.
    When done, serve plain or season with butter.
