Date Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. dates
1 tsp. soda
1 c. hot water
1 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. chocolate chips
1 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. coconut
1/2 c. nuts

Preparation

Let first 3 ingredients stand until cool.
Pour all in cake pan except chips and nuts.
Sprinkle with chips and nuts.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
